• Lonely Table Base, Working Hard to Save a Spot

I’ve stared at this one… and am not certain what this could be.  I’m going to say that it’s a base to a table… a table that might have been in style in 1981.  I just can’t tell.  What ever it is, it’s ugly… perfect for reserving a cleaned-up parking spot.  All I know is that somewhere out there, there’s a lonely table-top.

  • Let’s have a Winter Yard Sale!

I wonder if there’s much thought about the choice of items residents choose to display for the rest of the neighborhood to see…?  Or, I wonder if they step inside their house, and without stepping on the carpeting with their wet shoes, they reach for the largest thing they can lift…?  I wonder…  “Honey… how about the small entertainment cabinet?  I can stand it on its side and it’ll be tall and no one will miss it… right?”  Sure, why not.  And why not have a yard sale while you’re at it… or post the item on eBay and let them know that it’s on display in your favorite parking spot?  You can advertise that you have curb-side services, too.  Sure… good luck with that.

  • Really?

Not sure what to say about this one.  I love it though.

  • Look At Me… You’re Not Parking Here!

I’m surprised there hasn’t been more of these. The ‘not-too-far and easy-to-grab from the front porch’ potted plants are always a nice display for the neighborhood. Each say “Look at me… You’re not parking here!”. Excellent choice for a spot-saver. These two don’t have a chance to come back to life, but they sure do save a nice parking spot.

  • Claiming Parking Spots… A Dirty Act?

Here’s one way to keep people from moving your sNOw Parking item. The smell alone can easily keep anyone away. The only problem is having to drag these two things back into your alley for when the trucks come by to pick up your trash… dirty and smelly. Hmm… is this what people mean when they say that claiming your spot is a ‘dirty’ act?

  • Set of Kid Chairs

This image was taken from Chicago’s Northwest side.  I don’t know about you, but I’m going to guess the person who place these out in front of their house, was a women.  I don’t see any guy putting out little wimpy kitchen set chairs.  No… not manly enough.  I suppose that ‘Mom’ thinks the kids won’t miss these if they were mis-“taken” for garbage.  As you notice, the sun has made plenty of room around the street.  Either she forgot about them or simply enjoys reserving a nice spot in front of her house.
